  • Arranged the theatre’s showcases in Slovakia and Hungary from venue sourcing, touring schedule, audience engagements, and media and PR.

Shades of Change was produced by the Shandong Academy of Arts and the Shandong Provincial Theatre Creation Studio. Performance Infinity worked closely to the creative team in recommending international artists visiting China for the collaboration and presenting the piece locally in China as well as Slovakia and Hungary.

Shades of Change is inspired by the Chinese traditional culture “I Ching” which try to lead the viewer to change the perspective of the world and the humanities. It is using the third person interpretation of the bird as a creative idea, using the theories in “I Ching” to express the colour and change of the five elements, thus triggering different thinking of the present people treating tradition, treating nature, and treating life. The bird is both a realistic bird and a bird of thought, leading the audience to appreciate and find the beauty that the reality should have.

Finish Your Plate was the opening play in the 2019 Children’s Theatre Season in the Inside-Out Theatre Beijing and also as the official programme of the 2019 Shanghai Jing’an Modern Drama Valley which was performed in the Malanhua Theatre.

The foods on the table became large puppets, together with the parents and picky children brought a full of magical, no language barriers performance. Toneelmakerij Theatre Company (Netherlands) focus on youth and children’s drama and bring complex life themes to the show through humour, playfulness and exaggerated expressions.

Coco Chanel was co-produced by Ulrike Quade Company (Netherlands) & Jo Strømgren Kompani (Norway), performed at the Daning Theatre in Shanghai on 7th and 8th May, as part of the 2019 Shanghai Jing’an Modern Drama Valley, and in Hangzhou Xixi Heaven Arts Centre on 11th and 12th May. Ulrike Quade and Jo Strømgren are fascinated by the complex history of Coco Chanel. Chanel controls the way the world sees her, and at the same time, her fashion has become a symbol of liberation.

Coco Chanel restores the life of Chanel’s legend through the puppets manipulated by the actors. The show reveals how fashion affects our values and social models, exploring how clothing becomes a body and how the body becomes a beggar.

Inspired by the world of indoor kite flying and stories such as The Snowman and The Red Balloon, Kite is a play without dialogue, but it is full of drama elements, original music, dance, puppets and of course kite. Through the body, the actors tell a story about losing and learning to lose, bringing the audience into a space of dreams and reality, full of power.

The Wrong Crowd Theatre Company specialises in the integration of puppets, real people, music and singing, hoping to ignite the imagination and inspire the audience’s sense of play.

English Touring Theatre – Othello @ Shanghai Great Theatre of China

Presented one of the four tragedies – Othello to The Great Theatre of China in July 2019, produced by English Touring Theatre. ETT is one of the UK’s leading touring companies, which celebrates the diversity of the nation, create connections between audiences nationally and places an examination of contemporary English identity at the heart of everything we do.

Othello was part of the 2019 Great Theatre of China International Theatre Season, which invited 16 plays across the world. As one of Shakespeare’s most powerful contemporary plays, Othello continually reminding people to abandon the differences of race, clan or culture and embrace the universality and value of human.

Kneehigh – Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs) @ Shanghai Great Theatre of China

Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs) is produced by Kneehigh Theatre which is considered one of Britain’s most exciting theatre companies. Have been touring the show several years across the country, Dead Dog in a Suitcase was adapted from The Beggar’s Opera but adds a few extra surprises, such as new characters and unexpected music.

Dead Dog in a Suitcase was part of the 2019 Great Theatre of China International Theatre Season, which combines a variety of musical forms with the production of peculiar puppets, coupled with the outstanding physical expression of the troupe actor, which has won unanimous praise from the Chinese audience.

  • Communicated between the artists and Beijing team during the whole creative period to ensure a complete understanding of both sides.
  • Supported a 4-week long creative workshop in China for the guest artists to train the local actors and to develop the production

In collaboration with Beijing Inside-Out Theatre alongside with British artists and local actors to produce a Chinese vision of Frankenstein and staged at Beijing Inside-Out theatre in 2019. The project aims to create a dynamic relationship of how British theatre industry to work with Chinese professionals in creating a new way of making theatre.

Frankenstein tells a story of the revenge of a scientific monster that has been developed. The protagonist Frankenstein is a scientist who has been studying the origin of life and has developed a scientific monster accidentally. Since then, the contest between scientific monsters and humans has been unfolded. Frankenstein is an exciting story with shocking visual effects, and audiences are deeply moved by the horror and romantic plot.

Armazém Theatre Company – Hamlet – 2019 China Tour

The Rio de Janeiro based theatre company, Armazém was founded in 1987 and now is one of the most high-profile Brazilian theatre companies around the world. The company’s previous piece, Water Stain, was invited to the Wuzhen Theatre Festival in 2017 and received a huge success.

This year, the company’s female adaption of Shakespeare’s classic Hamlet, was played by the lead actress Patricia, and some commentators said this version would go down in history. Pefromance Infinity arranged the company’s China premiere in the Harbin Grand Theatre and Shanghai 1862 Arts Centre. As one of the four tragedies, the world in which Hamlet lives is like a performance, seven outstanding actors are trying to explore how this classic Shakespeare repertoire communicate to contemporary society.

Light – Art & Tech Festival 2019 Beijing Inside-Out Theatre

  • Organised a four-day workshop with the artistic director and core creative team of the Theatre Ad Infinitum in sharing their experience and expertise in making physical theatre as well as the performing arts industry in the UK.

Light from Theatre Ad Infinitum (United Kingdom) was performed as part of the 2019 Art & Tech Festival at Inside-Out Theatre. It is a nightmare story about love, betrayal and technical power made by award-winning theatre company, and was part of the London International Mime Festival.

Light combines anime style with pulsating soundscapes to draw audiences to its sci-fi realm. The whole show illuminates the production without language in the dark with flashlights in an innovative way. It explores how our information security impacts each individual in the age of big data.

Imbalance – Art & Tech Festival 2019 Beijing Inside-Out Theatre

  • Assisted administrative tasks including performers’ visa applications, flights, local accommodations, and on-site management for delivering the performance successfully.
  • Organised an accessible and interactive workshop for both the Chinese professionals and public audiences during the festival to develop and explore the body movements in dance.

Imbalance from Joli Vyann (United Kingdom), represented by Turtle Key Arts, was performed as part of the 2019 Art & Tech Festival at Inside-Out Theatre. It was created by the actors Jan and Olivia, who are the founders of the troupe with their personal experiences and invited famous choreographer Jonathan Lunn. Imbalance shows the problems in life in the most intuitive way, and the actors impress the audience with delicate and precious emotions.

Imbalance was invited to performed in the 2017 London International Mime Festival and was staged at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London. It combines exciting acrobatic skills and athletic dance which explores our over-reliance on technology and discuss whether our life is ‘balance’ or ‘out of balance’.
