Created by the internationally renowned Theatre Re, the production explores the often unspoken experience of pregnancy loss, giving voice to a subject that remains largely hidden from public conversation. Through stories of grief, memory, and resilience, the work shines a light on an experience shared by countless families.
Developed over fifteen months, BIRTH investigates how experiences, emotions, and memories are passed from one generation to the next. Collaborating with leading researchers in neuroscience and philosophy, the creative team explores profound questions about inheritance, identity, and the origins of memory.
At the heart of the performance are Sue, Katherine, and Emily—three generations of women whose lives are connected through an invisible web of family history. Through their intertwined journeys of self-discovery, acceptance, and hope, BIRTH offers a powerful reflection on loss, love, and the enduring miracle of life.
