  • Presented Eating Myself in China as part of In Motion: British Physical Theatre Showcase in China, supported by Arts Council England.
  • Worked closely with our Chinese partners, the Beijing People’s Art Theatre International Theatre Invitational and the Jiangsu Grand Theatre Drama Festival, in supporting international programming.
  • Ensured smooth communication between the artist and our venue partners in every aspect of the tour, from artists’ schedules and technical preparations to media campaigns and various works related to the visit.
  • Assisted administrative tasks including the performer’s visa application, flights, local accommodation, and on-site management for delivering the performance successfully.

Written and performed by Peruvian artist Pepa Duarte and directed by Sergio Maggiolo, Eating Myself turns the stage into a Peruvian kitchen, where a traditional soup is cooked live and its aroma fills the auditorium. Drawing on Pepa’s childhood in Peru and her journey to a new life in England, this solo show combines storytelling, physical theatre, music and real cooking to explore womanhood, body image, diet culture and cultural identity – a reminder that food is a gift, and an excuse to be with the ones we love.
